Originally from the Philippines, this unusual, evergreen houseplant has beautiful pink hanging flowers. It is also know as the ‘Showy Medinilla’ as when the flowers bloom they are incredible.
Give it a good soak every week or so during growing season (spring-summer), allowing the top few inches of soil to dry out between waterings. In the winter, let the soil dry almost all the way before you water it again.
Medea prefers bright but filtered light - put it out of the way of a south- or west-facing window is ideal.
They don't love temperatures below 15 degrees, so make sure it doesn't get too chilly.
Once their flower buds begin to peek out, apply a liquid fertiliser every two weeks until the end of growing season.
Medea prefers an atmosphere with high humidity, so try spritzing it with a plant mister.
